Whilst all the items in this set have a gold coloured finish, the buckle is made from zinc with an electrodeposited coating gold finish. The Tri-Glide and D Ring are both brass. Therefore there is a slight difference in tone.

Brass products can oxidize and darken as a result. This is not a defect, only a natural characteristic of brass. If you wish to prevent this happening, the surface of the material should be treated with the clear, transparent synthetic varnish.
